I have really enjoyed and valued my coaching sessions with Kate. For a long time I had wanted to become more comfortable in the kitchen. Cooking had always been a chore for me, I found it stressful and wanted it to be over with as quick as possible. I often found this a shame, as I wanted to be able to cook for friends and family and to be able to find the enjoyment in creating new healthy or creative meals.
Since I began coaching with Kate, I have learnt to take more interest and time in what I eat, and how and when I prepare my meals. I have really enjoyed the process from start to finish.
I can particularly see an improvement in the way I shop at a supermarket, in the slower speed at which I prepare and cook my food and in my general interest in learning about what foods go well together and in their nutritional value.
Kate always responds to your needs, tailors the sessions to suit you and even sends you some articles in between to keep you motivated during the week! She has a very calm, kind and caring nature and puts time and effort into tailoring training sessions targeted to your needs. She has a wealth of knowledge in cooking and healthy living and is flexible to adapt the session according to your wishes that particular week.
I now feel more at ease in the kitchen than I ever have done before. I remind myself to take things slowly and not to rush whilst preparing meals. Slowly it has started to become less of a chore. I have really enjoyed trying out the new recipes that Kate sends me each week and I am always eager to receive them.
I am definitely more organised and structured in my routine. I now do not need to go to the store on a daily basis as Kate helped me to stock up my pantry so that there are always basic goods there to cook with. Sometimes I did not need to return to the supermarket for two weeks which has made my life a lot easier!
The most practical activities have been learning good chopping/knife skills, always tasting food as you go along, and improvising and trying new things out when I feel like it.
I have really enjoyed being accountable to someone, this has made me confront my fear of cooking, and my previous inability to find enjoyment in it.
